Anddd scene! Wait, no – I didn’t want that image as the background!

There are 2 main commands in Renpy to incorporate images: ‘show’ and ‘scene’. ‘Scene’ makes the image file listed after the command the background of that page on the website, whereas ‘show’ creates a sprite image that can easily be switched out for another image more appropriate for the scenario. An image coded using ‘show’ can easily be hidden with the ‘hide’ command; this isn’t the case for a ‘scene’ coded background image.
